Through our representation of business entities we have developed a significant expertise in corporate finance. | SR represents corporations, both publicly and privately held, individuals, and estates and trusts with respect to a wide variety of tax matters. Services offered include advice and planning as well as representation before the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Justice,various state and local taxing authorities and the Courts in civil matters. A significant portion of the work of our Firm consists of counseling corporate clients on tax effects of various transactions and other matters affecting their businesses.
The firm is experienced in most areas of taxation, including not for profit corporations, corporate tax, partnership taxation, pensions and employee benefits, estate and gift tax, and acquisitions and divestitures. |

We frequently defend corporations and individuals in commercial litigation involving the areas of contracts, construction,trade secrets, labor and real estate. | SR represents the interests of domestic, foreign, national,international corporations, and labor unions in a broad range of related matter including; equal employment,wrongful dismissal, personnel law, affirmative action matters, collective bargaining, arbitration,occupational safety and health, compensation, employee health and benefit planning, and maintenance of non-union or union status.
We represent clients in Federal and State Courts and before administrative agencies with respect to complaints alleging wrongful discharge, breach of employment contract and discrimination on the basis of age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability or handicap.
In addition to representing management and labor in a litigation context, we counsel clients on judicial and administrative rulings, which interpret laws such Title Seven of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1992, the Equal Pay Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Presidential Executive Order 11246, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Fair Labor Standards Act (Wage-Hour Law), the National Labor Relations Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and the Railway Labor Act. We assist our clients in establishing effective personnel policies and procedures, employee handbooks and manuals, designing and instituting written affirmative action programs, and preparing a variety of personnel forms. |
